Bringing awareness into our lives
The inner purpose of our lives is to awake. So often, I observe people who act and live most of their lives on autopilot, and for many years, I myself lived in that state of consciousness; we can call it a conditioned, individual consciousness. When we live mostly unaware, our conditioning, limiting beliefs, and various energies we are not even aware of cause our lives, which cannot be called a free life. It is as tough as handing over our existence, and a happy, fulfilled life, and we cannot live in a state of freedom. It seems that it is a stage of consciousness and its development until we start to function in a more awake state, and most probably, life will reflect our unconsciousness in everyday life through struggles, relationships, and perhaps inner suffering. It certainly does that so that we can be shaken a little and redirect our attention from what is not so important to our inner work and spiritual growth.
One way to increase awareness in our daily lives is to start observing ourselves nonjudgmentally. We do not want to change ourselves at this point, but we want to be more aware and awake in what and how we do every day. This simple attitude aims to create more inner space between us, observers, and all experiences that are part of our daily life, including our inner environment in the realms of feelings, thoughts, bodily sensations, and various external experiences, and how they affect us. What helps us to be more observant is to be rooted in our body, which can itself be a gateway to Presence. By paying attention to our inner body and its aliveness, we automatically become more present and more aware. You can practice that in your daily life by holding around 50 – 60 % of your attention in your inner body. In other words, when you're out and about in your daily duties, please be aware of your inner body and its aliveness in the same way as you are aware of what you are doing and experiencing. You can start with simple tasks like washing the dishes, cleaning the house, working in the garden, or taking a daily walk. Then you can practice feeling your inner body during conversations with others or more dynamic experiences involving interactions with others. It will bring much more Presence into your aura, everything you do, and will increase the quality of those. It will also help to become more aware and observant, and over time, you will become aware of your own awareness in a much deeper way, which will cause your awareness to expand. Expansion of your awareness will impact every aspect of your life and its quality, and will help you to have more vital energy.
